Today! 10 minutes ago actually...

Can a two-year-old break her nose?
Well Olivia is trying to find out!
On Tuesday (Ryleigh's birthday) I was making Fudgy Mint Brownies for her classroom  birthday dessert when I heard Olivia calling my name from the other room (she was watching Dora the Explorer). I answered he with the usual "what-ie") Then she yelled it a little louder, so I went to see what she was getting into.
I walked into the room - I was greeted with a mess.
A bloody mess. Literally - blood. everywhere.
I will spare you the details but seriously - everywhere.
After cleaning her up I held her for a long time but she started swelling up instantly so I started to get worried. I felt her nose for any hard bumps or abnormal stuff but I could only feel swelling (she had a grown mans nose at this point!) so after Dan got home we took her into the doctor. He said he didn't think it was broken but just to be sure he ordered an x-ray. (broken noses on cool on boys but not so cute on little girls - ya know!)
Olivia did really really good for her x-ray. She has a little upset of course but she held still and we were able to get pretty good clear images of her face. No broken bones thankfully! Just a whole lotta swelling and bruising!
Personally I think she looks like Neytiri (the girl on Avatar) now!

Ryleigh

Today Ryleigh turns 12.

I am not ready for this! I am not ready! Wait!!

Unfortunately for me ~ she IS ready. She is so excited to turn twelve and go to young womens and wear mascara and go to junior high next year. And honestly, I think I know deep down that she is ready.
Ryleigh is absolutely amazing! She is everything I would have ever dreamed her to be at this age (plus some!). She is an amazingly hard worker. She loves school, and loves to succeed in school. She is trustworthy and honest but knows how to have fun a be a big goofball. She is such a wonderful young lady and I am grateful for her more and more everyday!
I love you Ryleigh Bug
Happy Birthday!

Vegas Baby!

Last week I had so much fun in LAS VEGAS! Since Aubrey and I are now a part of BellaSoles we were invited to go to the WSA Shoe Convention that is held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Unfortunately Aubrey started her new job that week and was unable to get away so I went with Jonelle - she is the only other BellaSoles Rep here in Arizona.

It was absolutely crazy! I have never seen so many shoes in my entire LIFE! It was awesome - plus we get a sneak peek at the new upcoming styles for summer. We had a blast picking out HUNDREDS of different shoes in HUNDREDS of different colors. We had to give our input on Arizona styles because apparently Utah is behind in fashion about a year (even the vendors laughed about Utah). SO FUN! I am so excited to do it again in August!

Oh... and I met Doctor Turk!

Girls will be girls

Last weekend Ryleigh's cousins came over for a sleepover. They have grown out of the stage of Barbies and baby dolls so instead they want to give each other makeovers and do their hair. I am trying to stress to them the importance of good skincare. Because really your makeup will only look as good as your skin looks. So I allowed them to use a mint julep mud mask. They were hilarious! Watching them try to talk while that thing was drying up!

Of course Olivia did not want to be left out! She thinks she is a big girl too!

I {heart} Shoes

Anyone that knows me knows that I really really love shoes!

I came across the coolest thing EVER! It is a company called BellaSoles. They do at home shoe parties! Kinda like pampered chef or tupperware but better (what woman wants to go to a party that reminds them that their job for the rest of their lives is to cook and clean! :) )

In December I had my first at home shoe party, it was love at first try-on! I earned 3 PAIRS of FREE shoes at my first party! I couldn't even believe it! After that I had to be a part of this.... so my sister-in-law Aubrey and I decided to join forces and become BellaSoles representatives. It has been so fun!
We had to have a launch party so we did and earned 4 more FREE pairs of shoes!
So if you want to earn some free shoes (or just purchase a pair of super cute shoes for less than $25.00 and boots for under $30.00 ) then email us @ aubreyandjeni@bellasoles.com ~

oh oh oh! And get this - if you want to have a party in January then you will earn 2 FREE PAIRS (instead of the usual 1 pair) of shoes JUST for having 10 people (adults) show up plus an extra free pair for every $250.00 spent at your party.  But you have to book soon and have your party
 BEFORE JANUARY 31st!
...oh my gosh... I am just so excited about this - can you tell?

oh my goodness and they have unique purses and sunglasses too!
P.S. Thanks Ashley, Jayda & Ryleigh for modeling my FREE SHOES for these pictures!

Lets go for a swim

My parents have a pool. It is a fantastic resource in May, June, July, August, September and sometimes the beginning of October. It sits useless during the other months.
Without fail my boys ask us if they can go swimming every-single-time we go over there. I have even had them stick their hands in to see how cold it really truly is. "It's NOT THAT cold" is what they tell me.
So yesterday we are eating dinner at my parents and Spencers flip flop somehow ends up in the center of the pool. There is no reaching it. (of course if we really wanted too we could have used the net to get them out) The boys thought their only option (much to their joy) was to jump in and get them. Lucky enough for Spencer he just happened to be wearing his swimsuit that day.
So we said fine, but let me get the camera first.

Once they hit the water it was sheer panic! Ethan forgot all about the stupid shoes and swam straight for the side. Spencer managed to grab one shoe and then was outta there!
Spencer said he did NOT want to go back in there to get that other shoe and that he could keep a better eye on them next time so they wouldn't end up in the pool again.

Ethan said "aahahahahha!....sob, sniff, gasp"

After they were all done we let them take a warm bath and get in dry clothes. But I don't think they will ask to swim again anytime soon.

Boys and their toys - girls and their.......kids?

For about 10 years now Dan and his bestest friends from High School (Spencer & Ethan) have been dreaming up a super sweet nighttime paintball game. Finally they were able to make those dreams a reality. They planned an overnight campout with friends and brothers and paintball. They were all so excited, they were like getty school girls.  Dan even said "It is not macho how excited I am right now!"

Thankfully, all of us wives enjoy each other and so we decided to hang out together while our boys were out playing war. The only bummer... there was 15 kids!  Fifteen kids is a LOT of dang kids. At times it was very loud but in all it was a lot of fun. I would do it again in a second.

My girlfriends Celinda and Jen and my sister-in-law Aubrey and I made breakfast for dinner for all the kids and then painted our nails and talked about our husbands (all good of course!)

Celinda and her 2 1/2 year old Abbey.

Jen cutting onions, apparently every home cook needs onion goggles!
Aubrey cooking up some hashbrown - yummmm

Olivia LOVES Brookie (Bookie is what she calls her, which is an improvement on boogie - which is what she used to call her)
Jet is Spencer & Celinda's baby, I think he is about 5 months now. I love babies!

Ryleigh, Jayda, Tayler & Ashley just snuggled down on Ethan & Jen's bed and watched tween movies all night!

Brookie, again. She is such a dang cutie

The boys and Kylie were having a blast playing the Wii in Tayler's room. The rest of these pictures are actually pretty funny because the room was pitch black and I  told them to strike a pose and this is what they looked like when the flash went off!

Kylie Bear

Spencer Roonie! I love how Spencer has no problem keeping his eyes open when a bright flash bursts in his eyes when he is standing in absolute darkness but heaven forbid he keep his eyes open for a picture in the daylight!

Garrett & Ethan being goofballs!
