My Four Kids

I saw the cutest idea on Pinterest! It's where you blowup a picture to a HUGE size, using blueprint paper at Kinko's and then glue it to a giant foam board! Since I have been needing something for my barren plant shelf in my front room I decided that this was perfect for it! So I took the kids out and snapped a few shots. It was super sunny so they are a little (okay a LOT) squinty but I think they turned out pretty cute! Plus my big picture on my plant ledge looks awesome!!

 

Day 10 - Spencer Potter

Look at me! Posting all early in the day! I am having an issue with my 12 year-old son. EVERY SINGLE DAY he is getting into the Halloween costumes and wearing the Harry Potter cloak. EVERY.SINGLE.DAY... Yet, he's too cool to dress up this year for Halloween...

Day 9 - Cold?

You know you live in Arizona when your kids start cheering that it's "cold" outside!

Day 7 - Baseball in the dark

After a super relaxing day of conference and nail painting with Ryleigh I am now watching Spencer practice baseball with the Raptors. I love watching them play. These boys are awesome! Tonight the lights on our fields didn't turn on so they are practicing under the parking lot lights, with no balls of course - just base running & situations. We have a great creative coach.

The BIG 1-2!

I know that I say on EVERY.SINGLE. childs' birthday post that I can't believe how old they are getting - but seriously!

 I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS 12!!!

Twelve is a very weird age. Not weird for them necessarily, but weird for mom. It is the last year before teenage-hood, the last year of elementary school, the end of childhood. Plus the beginning of things: the Priesthood, Young Men's, cracking voices. Yikes! I just want him to stay itty bitty forever!

After his football game yesterday we picked up a close friend, Ryan and took the family to Peter Piper Pizza for lunch. It was super fun! (but, didn't Peter Piper Pizza used to be cheap?)

 Then after a day of relaxation and hanging out with his buddy we had his special birthday dinner. Spencers' request this year was completely different from years' past. He wanted homemade Waffles, Bacon & Orange Juice and Whoopie Pies for dessert. Dinner was super yum! What's not to love about sugar & bacon for dinner?

I made monster Whoopie pies! They were pretty good too. Then we finished the night off with a family movie night (Hunger Games). It was a perfect day.

Day 6 - football

Really Jeni... 3 days into this "picture a day" and you blow it!?!

Okay, in fairness... okay there is no fairness. I just plain forgot! I had huge plans to take a picture or two on Thursday night (day 4) of my doTerra party (but it was kinda lame {thanks for the 5 people out of 175 that showed up}) and of Ryleigh's softball game on Friday night (day 5) but I just forgot! I even have a timer set on my phone to remind me. FYI: Procrastination is not an effective tool for me.


So here we are at day 6:

This morning the boys had a football game. This is Spencer & Ethan's first year in tackle football so it has been an adjustment for us. It's super fun but it's totally different from the calming game of baseball. Spencer and Ethan are both starters on the Offensive line. Dan is so annoyed that they play offensive line and every game he has to bite his tongue to keep his cool about it. He would rather see Ethan on defense and Spencer running the ball. But in all honesty - who wouldn't?? No one wants their kid on the O line but someone has to do it. Hopefully, next year with a little experience under their belts they can move to a different position.

Day 3 - softball

Better late than never! It's only 11:30pm... Today was crazy!! I felt like I hit the ground running and am finally settling down. Today Olivia and I went to Ryleigh's softball game while the boys went to baseball practice. Her team ended up blowing a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th inning. Unfortunately it was their first loss of the season, but I still enjoyed watching her play. Since I was keeping score I forgot to get pictures until after the game! Oops!
