Confession: Easter was a little overlooked this year - as far as the festivities go.
For whatever reason it did not occur to me to color eggs with the kids until like 7:00pm the night before Easter. But of course, I was not at home when I thought about this... and so when I got home at 9:00 pm I was greeted with smiling faces saying " Can we dye eggs now?" ...... ummmm YEP! Let me just boil those up right now. eek.
So we finally got around to coloring them around 10:15 PM! I told the kids they had 15 minutes to get all 36 eggs colored - and guess what?! They did it! It was actually my favorite year to date. They were all in such a hurry to get the eggs colored that they didn't have time to fight about anything! I think we might do it like that every year!
So the next morning the Easter bunny arrived and brought the kids a TON of candy and some bubbles and other junk. Olivia was totally smitten with a basket full of candy at her spot on the kitchen table. The bunny brought Silly Putty for the kids which they all found fascinating.
For brunch we all ended up at the Gibbons for a little get together with everyone. It was delicious and relaxing and the weather was amazing. By this time Olivia was a seasoned pro at hunting the eggs. It was so fun to watch her go for them.
It was also pretty cool to have all the Grandkids (minus 7) together. I don't even recall the last time this happened.
