Well it's officially a million degrees outside and so that makes pool time a MUST. I decided to put Spencer, Ethan & Olivia in swim lessons for the first month of Summer and I was pleasantly surprised how much they learned.
Olivia was in a swim class with her second cousin Bela. These two were so cute together and to watch learn together. The only problem is one day... one of them (I don't remember which one started it) had to go to the bathroom, so the life guard brought her over to her us and we took her to the bathroom, followed by the other one then needing to go to the bathroom. This continued everyday.... Why? You ask.... Why did you not take her potty before her 25 minute class? Oh, I did! That little girl can squeeze out a drop on demand!
That is Olivia! She is swimming under water all by herself! I am so proud of her. Thankfully, this year she has been a little timid of the water. Which is a HUGE improvement over the last 2 years.
However, she can NOT float on her back by herself... therefore she failed Otters... Yep, she has to repeat the course. next year.
The boys... I put them in regular swim classes this year, instead of Dive lessons like last year. I looked over the list and decided to put them into level 4 since they already know how to swim, they just don't know the difference between the different strokes. They were nervous to start the class and they were a little upset that I was putting them in swim lessons because swim lessons are for the "little kids". I assured them that I put them in the older class and I was sure they would be with kids their age......well... they ended up learning a lot about the different strokes.
At the end of each class they got to have a little fun on the diving board and the boys used this opportunity to show off what they learned last year.
