Generals

Ethan's new team the Generals had their last tournament of the season last weekend. It was a fun 3 months with them. They plan on starting back up in the fall and we hope to start back up with them then. They decided to take the Little League season off since all the boys are playing. This makes me so happy! I was dreading little league with 2 club teams!

Happy 15th Bugg!

We are officially in Countdown to drivers licence and dating! I can't believe Ryleigh turned 15 today! whoa nelly...
Ryleigh's old bestie Mikayla (She moved to Alaska in September) flew down to spend the week with Ry so that was so fun for her. It kept her busy and happy. I was pretty excited though when she had Mikayla go home and she just hung out with me. She still loves me and that makes my day! I keep expecting her to grow out of me and not want anything to do with me but it's just not happening and I couldn't be more excited!
For her birthday dinner Ryleigh had me make Fish & Chips and then she had Baby Lava Cakes for dessert. It was delicious and NOT low calorie.
I love you Ry! Happy Birthday baby!

Running and Running

Spencer joined the running club at school this year. He ended up qualifying for some races that take place between multiple schools in the district. I am so proud of him! As you can see, there are a lot of kids here!
Okay, so maybe he was interested in Running Club because his girlfriend is in it...hmmmm. (Left of Spencer in purple shirt)

Spencer did really well! He placed 7th overall in the 6th grade boys category. He was pretty excited to get a ribbon.

Finally!

Ethan finally got some time in as catcher this weekend! WOOHOO! ...and he looked good! I just love watching him catch. Of course he really had an all around good weekend. He pitched also, and was outstanding.
 And he had 2 triples!

A new team

Around Christmastime we decided to find a new team with Ethan. His team that he had been with up to this point was good. His coaches were wonderful men and the boys and parents all seemed perfectly nice and welcoming. But something was just wrong. I couldn't put my finger on it. I didn't know why I felt like it wasn't the right place for us.... until their last tournament. After the last game, and their team got run ruled by the other team one of the parents went up to one of the other boys on the team and said "GREAT JOB! You guys really played well, I am so proud of you!" and the boy was happy. In fact all the boys acted as if it was a wonderful game, except for Ethan.. Ethan was clearly disappointed and was in no mood for goofing off with the other kids. After the game he looked at me and said "no one cares if we win or not mom".  At that moment I knew we needed a change.

The best part was we found a team right in our local area! Which means practices are nice and close! Plus these are kids that Ethan will play Little League with and go to school with. So far so good! We are really enjoying the new team.

Ethan #15 and the other Ethan #10 were team captains of this game.

Unfortunately Ethan is still not getting as much time behind the plate as I (and HE) would like. The reality is that he has really advanced fielding skills since he has been playing up with kids 2 years older than him for the past 2 years, and the team really needs a strong middle infield.

They also have him pitch a bunch which is strange, considering he is bred to be a catcher - not a pitcher. But he is good because he can consistently throw a strike.
His team isn't winning a bunch yet but they are really good! They actually won the second game they ever played as a team, which is a great start! I feel like they have a bunch of potential and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them.

Olivia's Field Trip

Olivia's Preschool class had a field trip to the Aquarium today and so my mom and I went with her. It was actually a bunch of fun. I am a little disappointed on how my pictures came out because it was so dark in the aquarium, and of course Olivia was so squiggly that I don't have any pictures of her that aren't a blurr. As it turns out her favorite sea life creature was the jellyfish. My favorite were the gigantic sea turtles. I think Jett loved the Sting Ray's the most.

Can you see my mom and Jett in the aquarium?

There were all sorts of little tunnels that we could go in or sit in and it felt like you were really inside the tank. Jett loved this one! Of course, the Sting Ray were in this tank, and he really liked them.
