I had a birthday
So yesterday was my birthday. Its funny how uneventful birthdays get as you get older... but that is just how I want it to be.
It was actually pretty nice... My mom came and picked me up early in the morning and we did a little shopping at Chandler mall and then had lunch at Liberty Market in downtown Gilbert (YUM!...btw, you eat for FREE on your birthday, which we found out later that day) then I came home and relaxed with my husband for about 20 minutes until we had to leave so he could take me out to dinner. We just went over to Olive Garden since we needed to be quick and it is right here by our house. We had to get home to take the kids to their various practices. So we shared a dinner plate at 4:15 in the afternoon! Yah... I felt more like 81 than 31. Nevertheless it was yummy and I enjoyed the company. After "dinner" we took the kids to practice and then when we got home at almost 9:00pm my mom was waiting with birthday cake and ice cream! yummmm...
I hope that in 31 years, when I am 62 and my children are 45, 42, 40 & 35. I will be able to look back on this birthday and be thankful that I spent it right where I love to be most. With my family.

It's Time
So it has been nearly a month since my last update! I can hardly believe it. Time really is going by at lightening speed these days. I keep thinking that I will post when I have some pictures to share but that doesn't seem to be happening, so you will just have to put up with a non-picture post. just words.
So in the last month we have finally really settled into our new house, played some baseball, I got my wisdom teeth pulled, played some baseball, my two sisters came into town and we threw a baby shower for the youngest. Which I do have pictures of.... but just not today.
I feel like people get tired of me posting about my kids playing baseball, but that is really at least 60% of our life right now, so I am thinking y'all might have to just start dealing with it. Ethan & Spencer are both still playing baseball for the Raptor's Club baseball team, but they divided the team into two teams and so the boys got divided up, which translates to more baseball for us! They are also both playing Little League this year. Spencer's team looks really strong, like it will be a good season. Ethan's team looks like the bad news bears. Wow. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Ryleigh finished up junior high softball and is waiting for Little League to start for her. She will play Juniors for Little League this year, and that season doesn't start until April.
I got my wisdom teeth pulled on March 6th. It was/has been a rough recovery. Apparently my teeth were all impacted and large and therefore causing massive interference with the nerves in my mouth. As a result: I am still numb on my lower lip, chin and inside my mouth in the front. It make eating and drinking rather challenging. I go back to the dentist on April 3rd for a steroid if its not better by then. Good news: no more migraines from unusually large wisdom teeth smushing the insides of my mouth.
Last weekend we had my two sisters come into town. Andrea flew in from Oregon and Kristi drove into town from Colorado. We threw a baby shower for my little sister Kristi, who is having a baby boy - Jett, due in May. It was so fun! Plus, I think the shower turned out really cute. Pictures to come!
Well that's it. adios

Elmer's
You know what I love about Arizona? Elmer's Taco's in downtown Chandler. Handsdown one of my favorite places to eat. Especially if I'm on a budget. Dan asks me where I want to go on a date, the answer is ALWAYS Elmers!
I also love that ANYTIME family comes into town that is the first place they want to go as well! We had a girls lunch date today with Me, my mom, Kristi & Andrea!

Sisters!....and a brother!
I have two sisters, we are not blood sisters but we were raised together and we are legally binding siblings so that is as good as blood to me. We have a really special relationship and I just love them so much. The unfortunate reality is that we all live in different states. Andrea is in Oregon and Kristi is in Colorado and I am in Arizona. These days it is pretty rare for us all to be together. But recently we got lucky! We had a baby shower for Kristi! Thankfully that was reason enough for Andrea to find a flight and get her hiney here!
We had to get one with Mom too! |
Of course we all love Chad... our baby brother. The one that binds us all together with blood! Plus we just love him! He is such a great kid/grown-up.

Kristi's shower
My baby sister is having a baby boy! He is due on May 25th and I am SO excited! We have not had a baby in our family since Olivia was born 4 years ago. I was so excited to hear that she was having a baby that I instantaneously told her that I was going to throw her a shower. Looking back, that could have been perceived as super rude considering we have another sister plus her mom and my mom and loads of aunts and grandmothers that I am sure would have wanted to do it as well. But I sort of took over.

It ended up being absolutely beautiful, complete with a candy bar, and I actually got some help with the food from my mom and sister, and Kristi's mom and aunt provided the shower games (and a delicious cupcake recipe)!
The Candy Bar |
I don't think I have ever been so a shower that was so awesome, let alone helped plan one! We had so much fun and I am so thankful for all the help and even more thankful for baby Jett for giving us a reason to need a shower... now we just wait for him to get here......

Wisdom?
On March 6th I finally had those stupid wisdom teeth removed! I have been postponing the inevitable for over 7 years now and I guess the stars finally aligned and we had the money and I liked the dentist well enough to go for it.
I was not nervous for the surgery but I was really scared that Dan was going to video tape me when I was all drugged up and then make fun of me. I was having nightmares about that. I have seen all those youtube videos! I do not need 15 seconds of fame. Thankfully I am a total bore when I am under the influence. I just wanted to sit in silence and be sad.
The ride home |
The worst part of the whole thing is that because I waited so long to get them pulled my wisdom teeth were HUGE... and laying right on the nerves. So when they pulled them they informed me that my nerves were exposed and my mouth will probably remain numb for several days up to a few weeks as my nerves get over the shock of seeing fresh air for the first time ever.
